OTHER COMMENTARY FROM AROUND THE WEB ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The .jpg's below are scanned from Chapter 2 of "Slander." To emphasize just how little of the book is supported by AHC's vaunted footnotes, I have blacked out all of the text not directly supported by the footnotes, leaving only the portions that are supported. The point here is to demonstrate just how few of Ms. Coulter's wild assertions are actually backed up by her "research." Some caveats: * Where I did not or could not check the source (most notably, the official Regnery biography of Phyllis Schafly), I assumed that the source supported AHC's assertions. * I do not contend that all of the information in the blacked-out portions is false. Some of her factual assertions are more likely true than not. Nevertheless, if it is not supported, it is redacted. Similarly, I tried to redact all of AHC's pure rhetoric (usually shrill), which is neither true nor false. * Conversely, while I believe that the readable portions are supported by the footnotes cited, I do not mean to assert that they are true. In particular, I believe that in many cases AHC has, by selective quotation, made an assertion contradicted by her source. Such cases are discussed in detail here. Pages: |
